CETA BURSARY FUND PROGRAMME

15 YOUTH FROM CHRIS HANI DISTRICT APPROVED TO PARTICIPATE IN ENGINEERING STUDIES

In 2017, the Construction SETA (CETA) approved a bursary support programme to be administered by the CHDA, wherein which 15 locals youth would be enrolled to study towards qualifications in Engineering studies.  Thius is in line with the fact that the district is a water - services authority, and in need of engineers, which are currently categorised in the scarce skills of the district. 

These students were selected in a vigorous selection process, and gained acceptance into various academic institutions randing from WSU, NMMU to UFH and CPUT.  The CETA is funcding full tuition, books, accomodation and meals, and will monitor academic performance over the aproved 3-year bursary support contract per student.  a total of R 990 000 was approved by the CETA in value.
